Adrianus Hendrikus ‘Jacques’ Witjens was born in The Hague, April 1881. He received hius education at the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague. He mostly painted impressionist landscapes and sceneries with people. such as bright and lively beachscapes. He mostly worked in and around The Hague. Lateron, he travelled the world. In 1920 he left for the United States and thereafter to Argentina, where he remained until his death, December 1956 in Buenos Aires.
